Ronald Gene Simmons was born in Chicago, Illinois. Simmons went on a killing spree in Pope County in 1987 that was the worst mass murder in Arkansas history and the worst crime involving one family in the history of the country. His rampage ended six days later, leaving fourteen members of his immediate family and two former coworkers dead.
