Ray Winder, a central figure in the Arkansas Travelers baseball organization for over three decades, died at the age of eighty-two. Starting as a ticket taker with the Travelers in 1915, Winder grew his career in minor league management with teams in Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, and Alabama before returning to Little Rock. Under Winder, the Travelers sent a number of players to the majors, including Hall of Fame pitchers Jim Bunning, Ferguson Jenkins, and Dick Allen.
