Regina Kaplan, a trained nurse, began her tenure administering the Levi Hospital in Hot Springs (Garland County). She became a nationally known figure in hospital administration during her thirty-five years at the Levi Hospital and was honored, in 1944, with a brunch at the White House by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
