A post office named Delaware Hill was established in Craighead County. In December of the same year, the name was changed to Greensborough (it later became Greensboro). A thriving center of commerce, the town was located along one of the areas major thoroughfares, the Greensboro Road, which connected local business establishments with the riverport town of Wittsburg (Cross County).
