In the 1930s, fish hatched at the Joe Hogan Fish Hatchery, located in Lonoke County, were carried to locations in large milk cans such as the ones shown here on the back of this hatchery truck. By the 1940s, larger tanks made of cypress were used for transport. These have since been replaced with modern insulated tanks equipped with liquid oxygen.
