One of the most vocal segregationist groups to form during the desegregation crises of the 1950s was the White Citizens’ Council. A related Pulaski County group called the Capital Citizens’ Council claimed membership of some 500 members at the peak of the desegregation crisis in Little Rock (Pulaski County). Shown here is a graphic used by the group making reference to the military forces at Central High School during the 1957–58 school year.
