The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was created during the Great Depression to provide employment for young men. Shown here is the headquarters and barracks of Camp Nodak Company 794, located in Plainview (Yell County). The camp was composed of men from North Dakota who, after brief training in 1933, were transferred to Arkansas. They remained in Arkansas working on various projects until they returned to North Dakota in the fall of 1934.
