The Arkansas River Visitor Center near Russellville (Pope County) was dedicated on August 20, 1985. The center is designed to acquaint visitors with the Arkansas River, its history and culture, and the changes it has undergone as a result of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. Young visitors are shown here operating one of the center’s many interactive exhibits.
