For twenty years, from 1946 to 1966, Yale Camp in Ashley County served as a field classroom for Yale University students completing their studies in forestry management. Among the several buildings in the camp was the mess hall shown here, with longtime cook Rose Bolar ringing the traditional dinner bell announcing that the meal was ready.
