Following the collapse of the fruit industry in northwest Arkansas in the late 1920s, many area residents, such as John Tyson, turned to poultry. In 1935, Tyson began delivering poultry by truck, and he later introduced shipment by air. Tysons Hatchery personnel are shown here circa 1947 loading chicks onto an airplane.
