Shown here in 1955 is the Balao-class submarine USS Razorback, which saw extensive service in World War II, winning five battle stars. The submarine was named for the Rorqual family of whales. After serving in Vietnam, it was decommissioned in 1979 and sold to Turkey, which subsequently sold it to the City of North Little Rock (Pulaski County) in 2004. Today, it is moored on the northern side of the Arkansas River as part of the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum.
