Former president Bill Clinton’s 957-page autobiography, My Life, was the most thorough and financially successful presidential memoir ever written. Published in hardback in 2004, the book, which had an initial run of 1.5 million copies, sold approximately 400,000 copies on the first day of release. The $10 million advance for the book made it possible for Clinton to settle financial debts accumulated during his presidency.
