On October 3, 1963, President John F. Kennedy climbed the speaker’s stand overlooking the recently completed Greers Ferry Dam near Heber Springs (Cleburne County) to dedicate the dam officially. Here, Kennedy is shown greeting well-wishers at the Little Rock Air Force Base, where Air Force One landed prior to his trip to Cleburne County.
