Strother Homestead

The Strother homestead on Hutchinson Mountain. Civil War veteran Enoch Green Strother Sr. left Alabama after the war and was living at Round Pond (Hutchinson Mountain) by the 1880 census, along with his wife, Elizabeth (Gothard), and their children. He built a small log house. Following his death, one of his sons, Aaron Strother, who married Lou Graddy, resided in the house (which had rooms added). Twenty-first-century owner Freddie Mohlke began restoring the home.
