Solon Borland married Eliza Buck Hart of Memphis, Tennessee. She died in 1842, with no offspring. Solon Borland was a physician, editor, U.S. senator, diplomat, and military officer. He was the first Arkansas politician to be given a major diplomatic assignment, which eventually resulted in the destruction of a town in Central America.
