Dr. Ann Hayes Die replaced Dr. Joe Hatcher as president of Hendrix College in Conway (Faulkner County) and became the first (and, to date, only) woman to serve in that capacity. Die was the ninth president of Hendrix, a United Methodist Church–sponsored college whose leadership during its early days was filled by ministers.
