Alfred Burton (A. B.) Greenwood—an early settler in Benton County who served in local, state, and national public offices for twenty years—was born in Franklin County, Georgia. During his career, he served as state representative, prosecuting attorney, circuit judge, U.S. congressman, and tax collector for the Confederacy.
