Construction crews preparing the site of the Mosaic Templars of America building for restoration after the building had been destroyed by fire in 2005 found artifacts and documents inside the cornerstone of the original foundation. The African-American fraternal organization’s artifacts included a “History of the Temple” by John E. Bush, one of the two former slaves who founded the Mosaic Templars.
