The small southeast Arkansas town of Hamburg (Ashley County) celebrated “Scottie Pippen Day” to honor their homegrown basketball star. Proceeds from the day’s activities—including a fish fry, a hot-shot kids’ basketball contest, and a parade featuring Pippen on horseback—went to build a recreation center in Pine Street Park, the neighborhood where Pippen first learned to play basketball.
