Comedian Norris “Tuffy” Goff died in Palm Desert, California. Goff, with his partner Chet Lauck, created Lum and Abner, a radio program based on the people of Pine Ridge (Montgomery County) that was one of the longest-running and most popular programs ever broadcast on radio. Later Goff and Lauck successfully transferred their Lum and Abner characters to the movies.
