The Skirmish at Lawrenceville took place. Major William J. Teed led the Eighth Missouri Cavalry (US) in an attack against a Confederate force commanded by Major John B. Cocke on the farmland of a Dr. Green in Monroe County. Teeds force captured and destroyed cooking utensils and a variety of other material goods and foodstuffs. This short skirmish appears to have taken place as part of general operations in southeastern Arkansas, with no direct connection to any larger Civil War campaign.
