Allport (Lonoke County) was incorporated. Allport is a town on Highway 165 in southern Lonoke County located two miles west of Humnoke (Lonoke County). Allport is largely populated by African Americans, although Lonoke County’s population is over eighty percent white. Since its incorporation, the population of Allport dwindled to 115 by the 2010 census and fell to 86 the following census. There is a community church in the twenty-first century, but no stores or other businesses.  In September 2020, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee notified the office of the attorney general of a reported failure of town leaders to follow state municipal accounting law, an action threatening the incorporation status of the municipality should officials fail to come into compliance with law. On February 14, 2023, Attorney General Tim Griffin filed suit to revoke the town’s charter.
