Arkansas leads the nation in the production of baitfish with approximately sixty-one percent of all U.S. cultured baitfish being raised in the state. Over six billion bait minnows, such as the ones being harvested from this Lonoke County pond, are raised and sold each year. Over sixty farms are located in the state, for a total of approximately 24,000 acres of ponds.
