Dedicated in 1986 as a part of the state sesquicentennial celebration, Conway Cemetery State Park, located near Walnut Hill (Lafayette County), is the state’s second-smallest state park. Land that was once part of the plantation of the first state governor, James Conway, is now his burial site, where he rests aside forty family members. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
