The great nineteenth-century temperance leader Carry Nation is shown here in this undated photograph delivering a speech outside the Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs (Carroll County). Nation had purchased a house and moved to Eureka Springs in the early 1900s and was delivering a similar speech on the town streets in 1911 when she collapsed. She died about five months later.
