Cabot (Lonoke County) is one of Arkansas’s fastest-growing cities. Incorporated in 1891, it was once an agricultural center and railroad shipping point for the area. In the twenty-first century, the city serves as a bedroom community for commuters who work in the Little Rock metropolitan area. First Street, shown here in the 1940s, anchored the city’s downtown business district.
