Former Arkansas Razorback player and Little Rock (Pulaski County) native, Sidney Moncrief was drafted in the first round of the 1979 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. The fifth player chosen overall, he went on to a notable professional career, being selected to the NBA All-Star team a total of five times and twice picked as the league Defensive Player of the Year. A Milwaukee newspaper poll once named Moncrief, shown here in a game against the Chicago Bulls, as the favorite Bucks player of all time.
