Sheridan, named after Civil War Union general Philip Sheridan, is the county seat of Grant County and was incorporated in 1887. The construction of train tracks in the late 1800s stimulated the growth of the lumber industry in the area. Shown here is the Sheridan railroad depot in 1960.
