On October 16, 1971, Little Rock (Pulaski County) native and Baltimore Orioles third baseman Brooks Robinson hit a sacrifice fly, driving in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning of Game 6 of the World Series. The game, played in front of 44,174 fans at Baltimores Memorial Stadium, forced the series into a deciding seventh game the next day. In that game, Robinson went hitless in a losing cause.
