The All American Red Heads basketball team is shown at the June 5, 1999, opening of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tennessee. The team was founded in Cassville, Missouri, in 1936 and based in Caraway (Craighead County) from 1955 until its final season in 1986. Using Harlem Globetrotter-style antics, they played men’s teams and won seventy percent of the time.
