A 645-acre spring-fed lake is the main attraction at Lake Charles State Park in Lawrence County. Development of the artificial lake began in 1964, and it was officially opened in 1967. The park, which also offers sixty campsites, attracts many fishermen and swimmers. This photograph shows the lakes sandy beach on a sunny day.
