North Little Rock (Pulaski County) native Joey Lauren Adams is an accomplished movie and television actress, writer, and director. She has appeared in a number of films, with her breakthrough role coming in the 1993 film Dazed and Confused. She is perhaps remembered by most mainstream audiences for her role as Adam Sandler’s girlfriend in the 1999 film Big Daddy. Her directorial debut came with the 2006 film Come Early Morning, filmed on location in Arkansas. In reference to Arkansas, Adams has been quoted as saying, “I love it there. I go home all the time.”
