Caber Toss at UA

Caber toss was such a popular sport in Arkansas in the 1920s that teams often stole telephone poles for play. Pictured here is a competition featuring the Razor-Cabers, a student team at the University of Arkansas (UA) in Fayetteville (Washington County); 1928. Note the use of a purloined telephone pole. April Fools!
