During the Civil War, each of the Confederate states issued bonds and printed its own paper money to finance the war. So much currency was printed during the war that, by 1865, inflation was so out of control that the currencythough a sought after collectors item todaywas virtually worthless. Shown here is an early ten-dollar Arkansas Treasury Warrant.
