North Little Rock (Pulaski County), which at the time was a largely rural area surrounding the area south of what is now Fifteenth Street in North Little Rock, was officially incorporated. Its recognition allowed the city to take advantage of legislation, which was passed as the Hoxie-Walnut Ridge Bill, to annex and thereby reclaim for the north side the more populated area called Argenta and designated as the Eighth Ward of Little Rock (Pulaski County).
