The Red River Vocational Technical School, on sixty acres in south Hope (Hempstead County), became part of the University of Arkansas system and was renamed the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The school had originally opened in 1966. In fall 2012, a branch campus of UACCH opened in Texarkana (Miller County). In early 2019, the college changed its name to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana due to the growth of its second campus.
