Samuel George Hamblen married Maria Florilla Flint in New Orleans, Louisiana. Hamblen was later the second superintendent of the Hot Springs Reservation, now Hot Springs National Park, and is mainly noted for his design of the arching of Hot Springs Creek, which allowed the development of modern-day Central Avenue in the town of Hot Springs (Garland County).
