June Carter Cash, wife of outlaw country musician Johnny Cash, died of complications from heart surgery. Johnny Cash, the famous “Man in Black,” was born in Kingsland (Cleveland County). His most well-known songs include “I Walk the Line,” “Fulsom Prison Blues,” and “A Boy Named Sue.” The winner of fourteen Grammy Awards, including the Living Legend and Lifetime Achievement awards, Johnny Cash also starred in two TV series and three movies, and penned a best-selling autobiography, Man in Black. Almost four months after his wife’s death, Johnny Cash died in Nashville, Tennessee. Johnny Cash is buried near June Carter Cash at Hendersonville Memory Gardens in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
