The town of Highfill in Benton County voted to receive official incorporation. The area that would become Highfill was named for Civil War veteran Hezekiah Highfill, who purchased land in the area. The community was first platted in 1906 and received its first post office in 1907. By 1910, the new community also had a general store, a hardware store, a grocery, a blacksmith shop, and a church for Baptist and Methodist congregations.
