The Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) was chartered when the governments of Pulaski County and the county’s incorporated municipalities of Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood, Cammack Village, and Jacksonville entered into an interlocal agreement to establish a public corporation for public transit. The organization was later renamed Rock Region Metropolitan Transit Authority and continues to serve large parts of Pulaski County.
