February 5, 1864

Federal forces under the command of Captain Charles Galloway attacked a group of approximately 300 Confederates at Crooked Creek in Boone County. Union forces killed an unspecified number of Confederates in their pursuit before the enemy was able to escape. This skirmish represents one of many that took place in northwestern Arkansas, assisting the Federals in keeping enemy forces off balance.
