The Spanish Revival–style Hotel Seville, located in Harrison (Boone County), opened its doors for business in 1929. The cost of the construction was approximately $150,000, with the furniture totaling approximately $20,000—both enormous sums for the time. The building, under the ownership of the Continental Hotel Company of Springfield, Missouri, soon became the hub of social and business activity in the town. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, the hotel is considered to be one of the finest preserved examples of Spanish Revival architecture. Today, it is operated as a bed and breakfast.
