Construction of the Augusta Presbyterian Church was not completed until shortly after the Civil War. Once occupied, the building served as the meeting place for the church members until 1972, when it was deeded over to the city government. A future president, Woodrow Wilson, worshiped at the church while visiting his sister and her husband, a Presbyterian pastor. Today, the building serves as the community’s Heritage Center.
