Subiaco Abbey and Academy, a Benedictine monastery and college-preparatory boarding school located in Logan County, began as St. Benedict’s Colony in 1877. The academy opened as a high school for boys in 1902. The school, which admits students from grades eight through twelve, usually has around 200 students. More than fifty monks serve at the abbey, teaching in the high school, farming, serving as pastors in nearby congregations, and supporting the abbey in various ways. Shown here is the Subiaco Abbey Church.
