Tunstall Gravestones
The tombstone of Thomas Todd Tunstall (middle stone), captain of the Waverly, the first steamboat on the upper White River. Besides his steamboat and other business interests, Tunstall was a racehorse enthusiast. He invested in a large farm on Dota Creek, where he bred and raced champion horses. The tombstone of his third wife, Elizabeth Magness, is on the right, and the stone of his son William is on the left. Pleasant Hill Cemetery (a.k.a. Tunstall Cemetery) is in Dota (Independence County).
