John Crawford

John Crawford was state auditor from 1877 to 1883. Crawford’s grandfather, also named John, moved from Missouri to what is now Lawrence County in 1816. Two years later, the elder Crawford failed to return from a hunting trip in the “Spring River Wilderness.” His body was never found.
