James Elison Foust and Harriet Knight Foust

Drasco (Cleburne County) pioneers James Elison Foust and Harriet Knight Foust; 1900. Elison Foust had a grist mill on a tributary of Big Creek near Drasco. He moved his family to the area from Mississippi in the early 1850s, dammed the creek, and built the mill. When water was low, a team of oxen was used as a power source for the grinding.
