Crump, George J.

George J. Crump was an officer in the Civil War and the Brooks-Baxter War. He was a prominent attorney in Carrollton (Carroll County) and Harrison (Boone County). He served in the Arkansas House of Representatives, as county clerk of Carroll County, and as a Democratic delegate for the Third Congressional District to the Arkansas Constitutional Convention of 1917–1918. He was also a U.S. marshal for the Western District of Arkansas. George James Crump was born in Harlan, Kentucky, on June 13, 1841, to John Gray Crump and Elizabeth Gaither Watkins Crump.
